Update on Berkeley College Mask Policy

March 22, 2022

Dear Students,

Berkeley College will lift its mandatory mask mandate in campus common areas, through the end of the winter 2022 semester. Masks are still required in classrooms and on College shuttles.

While masks will not be required in common areas, they are still recommended. Those who are immunocompromised or at high risk should check with a healthcare provider as to whether they should take additional precautions.

The College’s vaccine mandate remains in place. Beginning on Monday, April 25, 2022, all students who arrive on campus must have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Students who have received only one dose of a two-dose vaccine by the start of the spring semester will be required to receive their second dose as prescribed by the vaccine manufacturer: 21 days for Pfizer and 28 days for Moderna after first dose; those who receive a World Health Organization-approved vaccine should visit the WHO website for more information. Students who receive Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine only receive one dose. Booster shots are not required at this time.

Please log in with your Berkeley College credentials and upload your proof of vaccination using this e-form, which lists all forms of acceptable proofs, by Monday, April 25, 2022, or when you receive your first dose prior to the start of the semester.

The College continues its initiatives to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure. These efforts include, but are not limited to, increased cleaning and disinfection; enhanced air filtration; reduced capacity in classrooms; additional availability of hand sanitizer dispensers and disposable wipes; and requiring the daily COVID-19 Health Questionnaire.

The health and safety of our students is always a priority. If you have any questions about the College’s COVID-19 planning, email SDCL@BerkeleyCollege.edu.

Maintaining a safe campus community is a shared responsibility. Thank you for doing your part.

Sincerely,

The COVID-19 Task Force
