Military Times has ranked Berkeley College on its 2023 “Best for Vets,” list, recognizing the colleges and universities that best serve military and veteran students. This is the 10th year the College has been recognized. More than 250 military-aligned students are enrolled at Berkeley College for the fall 2023 semester.

The “Best for Vets” rankings are based on responses from 325 schools that answered questions about services and programs for military and veteran students. According to Military Times, survey results are then analyzed alongside public data from the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Student success metrics, including factors such as degree completion and grade-point average, as well as military-specific resources and financial assistance, were the most important factors used to determine the rankings.

“The diverse voices and perspectives of military and veteran students elevate the Berkeley College community,” said Tami Pichardo, Senior Director, Office of Military and Veterans Affairs (OMVA), Berkeley College. “Throughout the year, the Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs facilitates opportunities that connect this cohort of our student body, ensuring each student feels supported and engaged.”

Berkeley College military-aligned students, faculty, staff, and their families will continue the College’s annual tradition of marching in the New York City Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The OMVA also organizes an annual toy drive for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ.

Berkeley College is ranked as a best college for military and veteran students by several organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Military Times, U.S. Veterans Magazine, and Military Advanced Education. The Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs provides support to its student-veterans through four on-site veterans resource centers (VRCs) in New Jersey and New York, as well as through an Online VRC. Berkeley College supports the GI Bill® and Yellow Ribbon Program.

Berkeley College is ranked No. 180 of 325 colleges on the “Best for Vets” list. Thirty New York colleges and seven New Jersey colleges made the list.

“Our comprehensive survey and thoughtful methodology make our rankings best in class,” said Mike Gruss, Editor-in-Chief, Sightline Media Group, parent company of Military Times
