THE BRONX, NY – On October 23, Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College, was honored as one of the Power Women of the Bronx. President Recinos and 49 other Power Women were invited to dance down the red carpet at the Villa Barone Manor to receive their awards – large golden trophies with engraved placards. The evening began with a VIP hour, then continued with a silent auction, dinner, the awards ceremony, and raffles.

“I am honored to be recognized among the Power Women of the Bronx by Schlep’s Media alongside so many other remarkable leaders. This recognition reflects Berkeley College's commitment to empowering students not only from the Bronx but also from around the world, providing them with the education and opportunities they need to reach their full potential,” said President Recinos.

While she does not brag about her accolades, President Recinos has been no stranger to the limelight throughout her prestigious career. She has been recognized in City & State New York’s 2022 Higher Education Power 100 list as one of the most influential leaders of New York colleges and universities, she was named as one of the Best 50 Women in Business in 2016 by NJBIZ, and she has won various other leadership and service awards.

"It’s both an honor and a privilege to work with Diane because she leads by example. My first one-on-one as an employee was with Diane, and she told me her door was always open, no matter how large or small the issue might be. She has been a phenomenal mentor, an integral part of my growth and success, and an inimitable role model for all of our students and staff. It is an honor to call her a colleague and friend,” asserted Panagiota Babadelis, Director of Marketing.

President Recinos began her Berkeley College career in 1992 as Director of Financial Aid. She has held positions in Campus Operations, Admissions, Marketing, Student Development and Campus Life, Disability Services, Career Services, Academic Advisement, the Office of the Registrar, Institutional Effectiveness, and the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs. Her variety of leadership roles across Berkeley College have made her uniquely qualified as the President of Berkeley with a broad scope of understanding the wants, needs, and day-to-day operations of nearly every department.

Berkeley College congratulates President Recinos on her Power Women of the Bronx award and excitedly anticipates the next honor she will receive.
