The Eastern Association of Financial Aid Administrators (EASFAA) honored Howard Leslie of Boynton Beach, FL, with its Lifetime Achievement Award on May 9, 2025. Leslie served in leadership roles with the Berkeley College Financial Aid Department for more than 15 years.

“Financial Aid Administrators work for the benefit of the students,” Leslie said. “In my case, I also aimed to assist fellow Financial Aid Administrators in supporting their students. Ultimately, the focus is on the students, their educations, and their futures. Receiving this recognition from EASFAA was an incredible honor and a delightful surprise, and it brought immense joy to my family and me.”

Leslie joined Berkeley College in 2009 and served as Vice President, Financial Aid Compliance, where he managed the College’s Financial Aid Department and the administration of student aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. He served as President of the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA) from 2019 to 2021, where he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award (2021), a Presidential Award (2020), the Joseph Dunne Service Award (2017), a Founders Service Award (2012), and the Thomas Monahan Award (2007).

Leslie, a Certified Financial Aid Administrator (FAAC®), is also a member of the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators. He received Citations of Appreciation from both the U.S. Department of Education and former President Jimmy Carter.

“Howard Leslie’s recognition with the EASFAA Lifetime Achievement Award is a fitting tribute to a remarkable career dedicated to student success,” said Will Moya, Vice President, Student Finance and Institutional Effectiveness. “Over his 15 years at Berkeley College and 48 years in the financial aid profession, Howard has been a visionary leader whose compassion, innovation, and tireless advocacy has opened doors for thousands of students. His contributions have not only transformed lives but also elevated the entire field of financial aid. We are deeply grateful for all that he has done at Berkeley College and beyond – it has been an honor to partner with him in service to our students.”
