NJBIZ recognized Jennifer DeJesus, Campus Operating Officer, Berkeley College in Woodbridge, among its 2025 Leading Women in Business during a ceremony on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Somerset, NJ. DeJesus also serves as Chairperson of the Executive Board for the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce. She is a resident of Clark, NJ.

According to NJBIZ, this year’s honorees span industries including finance, health care, law, education, technology, and more. The award, formerly known as the NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business, honors professionals who have made a significant impact on business in New Jersey.

As Campus Operating Officer at Berkeley College, DeJesus oversees day-to-day operations, finances, student and staff retention, space management, and community outreach. She joined the College in 2013 and has served on the Chamber’s Executive Board since 2021.

“Jennifer DeJesus is a bridge-builder whose vision connects students, businesses, and communities,” said Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College. “Her open-door, open-heart approach has touched thousands across her 20-year career – from admission to graduation.”

As the first in her family to obtain a college degree, DeJesus said she is distinctly prepared to serve the needs of first-generation and nontraditional students. Berkeley College was recently selected as a member of the FirstGen Forward Network for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving experiences and advancing success for first-generation college students.

“I have always been passionate about reshaping higher education into a system that not only welcomes nontraditional students but helps them graduate with confidence, a strong network, and a clear sense of direction,” DeJesus said.

Additionally, her role on the Executive Board for the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce has helped Berkeley College develop innovative partnerships with business leaders that create a pipeline for students to gain real-world experience and sharpen their entrepreneurial skills.

DeJesus has served as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey; a member of the advisory team for The Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ; and a volunteer with the BerkeleyCares® initiative, contributing service hours to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and other nonprofits.

DeJesus holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Caldwell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Seton Hall University.
