Students gained insight into career opportunities and recruitment at luxury fashion brands when Berkeley College in New York City welcomed Florian Hassiotis, Campus and School Relationship Manager at Louis Vuitton, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. A 2015 alumnus of the Berkeley College Study Abroad Exchange program, Hassiotis is based at Louis Vuitton’s headquarters in Paris, France, and oversees internship recruitment and talent acquisition across a range of fields, including design, marketing, and technology.
Berkeley College students moderated the discussion, asking Hassiotis about his career journey to Louis Vuitton, resume expectations, and the experience required to stand out to recruiters.
“Before interviewing, you have to train yourself,” Hassiotis said. “It sounds very obvious, but be sure that you understand the position and you are able to talk about it. You need to have questions about the position, about the brand, about the team, about the goals of the team.”
Hassiotis encouraged students to be “ready to swim in the big pool” and to consider whether they are personally prepared to pursue an opportunity before applying, so they can make the most of their chance.
“When we interview candidates, we are looking for someone who is really passionate,” he said. “And the passion is not just about Louis Vuitton – be curious about the market, not just about luxury brands.”
Hassiotis spoke about the importance of mentors and shared his own journey, which began in real estate.
“We are looking for diverse experiences,” he said. “I don’t think there is a perfect journey.”
Florian also introduced the Louis Vuitton HORIZONS Graduate Program, a selective opportunity that gives accepted students hands-on experience across three key areas of the brand: retail; ateliers; and collections, retail, and digital merchandising.
“Florian’s story is not only about what he is doing now, but how he got here,” said Linda Mauro, Associate Vice President, Strategic Partnerships. “That story started with Berkeley College.”
The event was part of Bosses@Berkeley, a speaker and networking series held each semester that connects students with industry professionals and offers insights into careers across the fashion industry. Presented by the Berkeley College Fashion and Study Abroad teams, it was livestreamed to the College’s partner schools across Europe.
“This Bosses@Berkeley event drew strong interest from students across disciplines – not just Fashion, but also Marketing, Legal Studies, and other majors,” said Andrea Kennedy, Lead Faculty, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business®. “Having students moderate the conversation made the event engaging, while providing exciting insights to help them prepare for internships and careers in the competitive and always-changing fashion industry.”
