Contests and Sweepstakes

The Office of the General Counsel approves contests and sweepstakes used in connection with promotional, social, and advertising activities. Such activities are regulated under international, federal, state, and local laws. Associates, faculty members, and students who intend to conduct a contest, raffle, or sweepstakes must send a request to the Office of the General Counsel for approval. Requests must be submitted at least three weeks in advance and include the following information:

  • Description of the activity
  • Location
  • Audience
  • Duration
  • How to participate/enter
  • Judging criteria (skills contests)
  • Description and value of the prize
  • How to claim the prize
  • Selection of winner
  • Announcement of winner (date and means)
