Berkeley College Celebrates Online Learning Milestone
Berkeley College Online has gone the distance—and continues to do so with worldwide recognition and accolades.
2017 marks 20 years of providing quality distance learning to thousands of Berkeley students. What began in 1997 as a few online class offerings became an accredited degree program in 2003. There were 49 students enrolled then. Today, Berkeley College Online is home to more than 1,000 undergraduate students enrolled.
Berkeley College Online offers programs leading to Certificates, Associate’s degrees, Bachelor’s degrees, and an M.B.A. in Management. Online degree programs are developed with the same goals as on-site programs: preparing students for successful and dynamic careers.
Berkeley College graduate Troy Ashby supports this notion. Not only was the online program more flexible for Mr. Ashby’s schedule, it also led to his internship and future employment with Mount Sanai Hospital.
“Distance learning can be challenging. It takes a lot of self-discipline and time management, but it actually contributed to my goals and I carried this over into the workplace.”
Berkeley College takes much pride in offering students a superior online education. In fact, Berkeley College Online is one of the first college or university online programs worldwide to be certified for excellence by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA).
The recognition Berkeley College Online continues to receive reinforces a strong reputation.
For the fifth straight year, Berkeley College has been named one of the Best Colleges for Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings were released at the beginning of 2018, and Berkeley is proud to once again be chosen for this honor.
