After earning both an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Berkeley College, achieving his goal of an MBA in Management is a dream come true for Lamar Register.

Customizing his MBA program to advance his career

Berkeley College graduate Lamar Register smiles while holding his MBA diploma.“I’ve changed. I feel like the MBA program has prepared me for higher leadership roles,” said the sales distribution executive at a multinational food and beverage corporation, where he already supervises 20 representatives.

“Being able to customize my MBA program to meet my goals was a tremendous help. I’ve been able to apply everything I learned in my coursework to what I do in my career. My confidence has also grown—I’m comfortable walking into any room and speaking to anyone at any level.”

Developing important leadership and collaboration skills

Working in groups within the MBA program also helped enhance Register’s collaborative skills. “Dealing with different people and different personalities is so important. Working on simulations in class was very helpful.”

Advancing his career, inspiring his son

Looking forward, Register has plans to advance his career and is interested in teaching. He’s also proud to be an inspiration to his young son. “He brags about me and my achievements!”

“Berkeley College has been great for me,” Register concluded. “In the past, I described Berkeley as ‘awesome.’ Now I’d say ‘phenomenal.’ And I know the sky’s the limit!”
