Berkeley College has named LaTysha Gaines Campus Operating Officer of its Paramus campus, located at 64 East Midland Avenue, and its Woodland Park campus, located at 44 Rifle Camp Road. As Campus Operating Officer, Gaines oversees day-to-day operations, finances, student and staff retention, space management and community outreach. 

“My inspiration are the students,” Gaines said. “The opportunity to work with such a diverse student population brings me great joy. I am dedicated to their success and their growth. It is my goal that each student encounter is positive, educational and empowering.” 

Gaines joined Berkeley College in 2016 and most recently served as Assistant Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education with a concentration in student affairs, engagement, retention, recruitment and conduct. 

Gaines is a member of the Board of Trustees for the United Way of New Jersey in Elizabeth, NJ, and Serenity House in Newark, NJ. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the United Youth of New Jersey in 2016. 

Gaines holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Kean University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from William Paterson University. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Supervision and Leadership from Capella University. She is a resident of Linden, NJ.
