November 22, 2020
Dear Berkeley College Community,
The Berkeley College Woodland Park campus will transition to a remote environment beginning on Monday, November 23, in response to an increase in reported COVID-19 cases at the campus. The campus will remain open only for Public Safety and other essential personnel.
The Woodland Park campus is scheduled to reopen on Monday, December 7. Students should check their email for any further notifications about the status of the campus. Students in lab courses in the School of Health Studies should follow the instructions provided by lab faculty in their respective Canvas courses.

All courses at the Newark campus are also being conducted remotely. All student services are being offered remotely, including the Library, Center for Academic Success and Academic Advisement.
Courses Remote at All Campuses Beginning November 30
As a reminder, beginning Monday, November 30, all classes at all Berkeley College campuses in New Jersey and New York will be conducted virtually through December 19 (the last day of the fall semester).
What is Close Contact?
Anyone who was within 6 feet of the infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more is considered in close contact. An infected person may be contagious approximately 48 hours before displaying any symptoms.
When a positive case is reported to the College, any identified close contacts will be notified by the local health department and/or trained College personnel in connection with contact tracing efforts.
We encourage you to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) for personal hygiene and cleanliness that can help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19:
- Practice social distancing (at least 6 feet apart).
- Wear a mask or cloth face covering in public places.
- Self-monitor for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.
- Do not travel if you are sick.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Practice good habits for cleanliness such as disinfecting commonly touched surfaces and avoid touching your face.
